The Misadventures of the Littlest Snowman

This morning brought with it a surprisingly steady snow shower. So after Tanner played tennis this morning (Drew is still with grandma and grandpa for another day), we headed out to Powder Valley to take advantage of the snow. I started out taking pictures of the normal stuff — snow on leaves, deer, and so on and so forth. And, of course, Tanner.

Then I noticed that the snow was really wet — and perfect for packing. So we decided to make ourselves a little snowman.
We used nuts, sticks, rocks and other natural do-dads to make his face and hair.
And we took him with us along our hike, posing him in different places. On benches…
On bridges….
And by little trees. It was so much fun. Totally cracked us up.

We thought we’d leave him by the main foot bridge so other people could laugh at him as much as we had. While it was a nice idea, unfortunately I am a bit of a klutz. On our way back to the bridge, I turned my ankle and gave our little snowman a fatal jolt. His head rolled off the body, fell to the ground and smashed all over the path. The only recognizable feature was his shell nose. Such a bummer. Oh well. At least we still have the pictures.
