Duotone

Quite by accident, today’s trip to Powder Valley turned out to be a study in colorlessness. But there was something so soft and lovely about it. I’m amazed by how beautiful nature is in every season.

I saw the buck today. The buck — the one that looks like he has tree trunks growing out of his head. I had to laugh at him, however. He was with a girl and he was prancing around like nobody’s business. He bobbed his head around in a way that I can only describe as a self-impressed woman’s hair-toss. You know the ones — they think they’re all that and they flip their hair behind them as if to say, “Oh yeah. I’m hot.” That’s what this deer was doing with his antlers. Either that, or he was having trouble balancing all of that weight and he couldn’t keep his head upright.
