Most of my newspaper beads have new homes now. Above is probably my favorite, a combination of the newspaper beads, felt, art glass, shell and vintage brass. Below is an earthier set that also uses the newspaper and vintage brass, but also has wood and some ancient ivory that my Mom brought back from Door County last year.
Finally, there’s this red set. I love the earrings because they weigh almost nothing (THE biggest benefit of the newspaper beads). This necklace is a little different for me, but I had someone in mind when I made it. In addition to the vintage brass and the newspaper, the necklace has glass and lava beads, as well as some really old porcelain beads that I recycled from a funky flea market find. I think there’s some red coral in there as well. Wish I had more to show for the weekend, but I had a great time.
