New Beads

A fresh batch of newspaper beads — which will (hopefully) find homes in new pieces tomorrow. I love these beads, but they are time-consuming little guys. Today I painted and sealed the beads, which is the last step in a process that typically takes at least three or four days. Photos of individual groups of beads are on my flickr page. Hopefully I’ll have photos of finished work to share tomorrow.

This lovely photo was my consolation for a painting mishap from earlier in the day. I’d left a bottle of napa red paint sitting out while I ran upstairs to get something. You know where this is going. Violet knocked over the bottle and I had a puddle of paint sitting on my light gray carpet. I did the best I could to get it all up, but, well, it’s red paint on light carpet. Looks like it’s time to have the carpets cleaned. But the natural light was sure lovely coming through the kitchen window as I dumped red paint into the sink. *sigh*
