Confession: the kids weren’t with me when I picked Sophie up and it made me cry. Big events don’t feel like big events when they aren’t a part of it. This is their dad’s weekend (Drew is at a concert tonight), so I’m home by myself. I should be really excited about this wonderful opportunity that began for us today, but I’m looking around our silent house and I’m missing my kids. Making memories is a lot harder when you’re by yourself.
