What’s on the horizon

“What I know for sure is that every sunrise is like a new page, a chance to right ourselves and receive each day in all its glory. Each day is a wonder.” – Oprah Winfrey

I haven’t felt much like writing lately, but I really hit a wall when I started thinking about drafting resolutions for the new year. That’s unusual for me — I tend to thrive on planning and improving….picking an event to train for, an adventure to map out, or a skill I’d like to acquire…sometimes all of the above. But these days it’s hard to be motivated to set stretch goals or work towards something on the horizon when there is so much uncertainty.

But after almost a solid year of cancellations and goals dashed, I’m wondering if maybe 2021 is a year to let the spirit rest and just let things unfold. Focus on little wins — like simply enjoying each day and being grateful for what is. After all, the horizon has been awfully pretty lately, even without plans beyond it.
