Commercial-free and Everyone Wins

Last weekend might have been Super Bowl Sunday, but it also marked the beginning of the Botanical Garden’s annual Orchid Show — which is my Super Bowl.

Overall, orchids are thought to symbolize love, beauty, fertility, refinement, thoughtfulness and charm. But meaning can also be found in individual colors.

Orange: Enthusiasm, boldness, and pride

Purple: admiration, respect, dignity, and royalty

Green: thought to bring good fortune and blessings; represents good health, nature, and longevity

Yellow: Friendship, joy, new beginnings

White: reverence and humility; innocence and purity; elegance and beauty

Pink: grace, joy, happiness, innocence, and femininity

Red: passion and desire; strength and courage

Commercial-free and everybody wins. Can’t wait to go back.

It makes sense that eggplant is my favorite color.
